Effects of APOE4 gene on neurodevelopment

Dr. Lepore from the Department of Radiology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is conducting a research study to look at brain development and how it is affected in babies born prematurely and at term based on which version of the Apolipoporotein E (APOE) gene they carry. Carriers of the ApoE4 version are genetically more at risk of late onset Alzheimer’s disease (AD).
